Guatemala, often referred to as the land of eternal spring, boasts a wonderful climate throughout the year. The dry period extends from November to April, while May to October marks the wet season. During December and January, the temperatures usually fall between 10C and 15C, being the coldest months. On the other hand, the warmest months from March to September see temperatures ranging from 25C to 30C. Daytime generally calls for light clothing, while evenings can be a bit cooler, making a warm coat a good idea. Despite the wet season, there's still a good chance of enjoying bright, sunny days. However, it's recommended to keep an eye on the weather forecast for potential showers or thunderstorms, especially those brought on by Caribbean hurricanes.

Yes, it is safe to travel in Guatemala. However, as with any Latin American country, it's advisable to follow certain safety measures. Avoid walking alone late at night and refrain from using public transportation or taxis. Instead, opt for private tour operators known for their excellent customer service and reasonable prices.

As a team, we highly recommend considering the dry season (November to April) for weddings in Guatemala. The start of this season, November, is a particularly beautiful time. The greenery is vibrant, sunsets are breathtaking, and the overall climate is comfortably cool. However, this period is quite popular for both local and destination weddings, so we suggest securing your essential vendors early to guarantee your preferred date. It's important to note that during this time, days are typically shorter, with sunsets occurring around 5:45pm.
Alternatively, there are benefits to choosing the rainy season for your wedding, such as the higher availability of top-tier vendors and longer daylight hours with sunsets around 6:30pm. If you opt for this season, our team would work with you to develop a contingency plan in case of rain. -
Going to a destination wedding in a new country like Guatemala allows you to experience a unique culture. Guatemala's rich offerings can leave you wanting to explore more. If your vacation time is limited, a four-day trip is recommended, but if time allows, you can stay as long as you wish to fully relax and discover the many wonders of Guatemala. To avoid missing the wedding due to unexpected airline or traffic delays, it's advisable not to travel on the wedding day.

Traveling to Antigua from La Aurora International airport is possible via a 60-minute car journey. It's suggested that you book a tour operator in advance who can meet you outside the airport. Alternatively, Uber is a convenient choice available in both cities, costing between $25 and $45 based on demand. Please note that Ubers in Guatemala are typically compact cars, so if you're carrying a lot of luggage, it might be better to opt for a private tour operator.

Yes, I oversee arranging the most suitable transportation for you and your guests. We have a variety of options such as private chicken bus, small private buses, tuc tuc, classic cars, or any other mode of transport you prefer for traveling to the ceremony and reception. After identifying the best fit for your needs, I manage all aspects with the transport provider, including schedules and pick-ups and drop-offs, until everyone has safely returned to their hotels.

While I don't personally provide airport transportation for your guests to Antigua or Atitlan, I can suggest highly-rated private transportation companies that do. They can arrange transportation as per your needs, whether that be individual rides or group travel for guests arriving on the same flight. I would advise you to share the transportation company's website with your guests so they can book ahead of time, alleviating any stress for you.

In my initial meetings with couples, the most common question I receive is about how to reserve ruins in Antigua. The administrative office that oversees the ruins handles these bookings directly. They typically release dates for reservation 12 to 18 months in advance, so it isn't possible to book too far ahead. To secure a date, you must provide a refundable deposit or initial payment. After this, payments are made for each area of the ruins you wish to reserve. For instance, Santa Clara Ruin offers several rentable spaces: the Temple, Claustre, Garden, Sacristy. If you plan to have a ceremony at the temple and the reception at the claustre, both areas need to be booked.
